Announcements are posts you build in the dashboard and send to one or more channels, now or later. Open it from the Modules menu under Engagement.
Every post has a status: draft, scheduled or published. A draft goes nowhere, a scheduled post waits for its moment, a published post is out.
Message text up to 2000 characters. Title up to 255. A category up to 50 characters and tags up to 30 characters each. Notes are for your team and are not sent.
A post can carry embeds and components alongside the text, and can ping roles you select.
Auto-publish forwards the message to servers that follow the channel, which only works in an announcement channel.
A post can repeat hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, with an interval of at least 1. End it on a date or after a number of occurrences. Optionally the previous post is deleted when the next one goes out, so the channel does not fill up.
A running series can be stopped from the post itself, without deleting what has already been sent.
- Posts can be approved or rejected before they go out.
- Every edit is kept as a version and you can roll back to an earlier one.
- Your team can leave comments on a post, up to 1000 characters, and mention each other in them.
- Archiving takes a post out of the list without losing it; restoring brings it back.
- The whole set can be exported.
Save a post as a template to start the next one from it. The analytics view reads back how published posts did, and can be re-synced per post.
/announceOpens a menu in Discord that walks through writing the message, choosing the format and channel, and publishing. Needs Manage Messages, and refuses to run while the module is switched off.
