Arrival Studio

Everything that happens when someone joins or leaves: message, card, sequence, DM, roles, milestones.

What it replaces

Arrival Studio is the Welcome module. It is not a bigger welcome message; it is the whole arrival: the message in a channel, an image card, a timed sequence of steps, a DM, automatic roles, a leave message and member-count milestones.

Open it from the Modules menu under Arrival. The page is tabbed: Overview, Channel message, Card, Sequence, DM, Auto roles, Leave, Milestones and Tests. Each tab saves on its own.

Info

The first time you open the page, a small part of the old Welcome config is imported once: the channel, whether it was on, and the message text. The old banner is not carried over. From that moment the legacy Welcome page is read-only.

The parts

Channel message

Pick the channel and how the message should look: plain text, an embed, a card, or text and embed combined with a card.

Message text up to 2000 characters. Embed title up to 256, description up to 4000, footer up to 2048. A delay of 0 to 300 seconds before it is sent. Optional auto-delete after 5 seconds up to 24 hours.

Quiet hours suppress or queue welcomes inside a wall-clock window in the timezone you set. The window runs on whole hours (0 to 23) and the mode is either skip or queue.

Anything you type has @everyone and @here stripped from it. Role mentions only go through for roles you put in the allowed list.

Card

The generated image. Six layouts (Hero, Profile badge, Split panel, Minimal glass, Event ticket, Rank reveal) and fifteen themes, including seasonal ones.

Hero text up to 120 characters, sub text up to 200, badge up to 32. You can show or hide the avatar, member count, join date, hero text, sub text and badge, and move or restyle the built-in elements.

Sequence

A list of steps that runs after someone joins, in order. Use it when one message is not the whole onboarding.

Step types: delay, role, message, card, dm, rules, verification and log.

Up to 30 steps. A delay step takes 1 to 3600 seconds. A role step takes up to 10 roles. Message steps have the same text and mode options as the channel message.

Direct message

A private message to the new member. Up to 2000 characters, optionally with an invite link and pointers to your rules, support and verification channels, plus a banner image.

Auto roles

Roles handed out on join. Up to 10 roles, with a delay of 0 to 3600 seconds. You can skip bots, skip brand-new accounts, and set a minimum account age of 0 to 365 days.

Modora's own role has to sit above the roles you hand out, otherwise Discord refuses the assignment.

Leave message

Text or embed, in a channel of your choice, up to 2000 characters. Optional auto-delete after 5 seconds up to 24 hours, a silent mode, and the member count.

Milestones

Announce round member numbers. Up to 10 thresholds, each between 10 and 10,000,000. Returning-member detection greets someone who had already been in the server before, with a message up to 500 characters.

Presets

Three starting points: Gaming Community, Roleplay Server and Support Server. A preset only touches how things look. Your channel, auto roles and leave settings are kept as they are.

Testing

There is no test command. The Tests tab sends a real welcome, card, DM or leave message to you, renders a card preview, and runs diagnostics: the bot works out on the spot whether it can actually post in the channel and hand out the roles.

Placeholders

Single braces. Anything the bot cannot fill is left in the text as it is.

GroupPlaceholders
Member{user} mentions them, {user.name} is the username, {user.display_name} the display name, {user.id} the ID, {user.avatar} the avatar URL.
Server{server.name} is the server name, {server.member_count} the member count ({memberCount} is the same thing), {server.icon} the server icon.
The join itself{join_number} is which member they are, {join_date} the join date, {account_age} how old their account is.
Channels{channel}, {channel2} and {channel3} become channel mentions. You bind each slot to an actual channel on the Channel message tab.
