Quick Setup

Get started with Modora in minutes

๐Ÿš€ 5-Minute Setup

Follow this quick guide to get the most important features configured. You can always fine-tune settings later through the dashboard.

Server archetypes & guided enable

New servers can pick an archetype (community, gaming, support, minimal, or custom) during onboarding. When you enable a complex module later, use Enable & setup to jump into the guided wizard instead of a bare reload.

Step 3: Set Up Permissions

Proper role hierarchy is crucial for Modora to work correctly:

01

Go to Server Settings โ†’ Roles in Discord

Drag Modora's role above any roles it needs to manage

02

Modora must be above member roles for moderation and leveling to work

โš ๏ธ Important:

If Modora can't assign roles or moderate users, check the role hierarchy. The bot's role must be positioned above the target role.

Step 4: Test Everything

After configuration, test each feature to ensure it works:

  • Welcome Messages - Use the preview in the dashboard or have a friend join temporarily
  • Moderation - Try /warn on yourself (you can delete the case after)
  • Leveling - Send a few messages, then check with /levels
  • Music - Join a voice channel and use /music play [song name]
  • Commands - Run /help to verify all commands are visible

โœ… Pro Tip:

Create a private testing channel where you can test features without bothering your members!
