Reaction Roles

Self-assignable roles with reactions

🎭 What are Reaction Roles?

Reaction roles let members give themselves roles by clicking emoji reactions on a message. It's like a self-service menu - you post a message with emojis, and when someone clicks an emoji, they automatically get that role.

Perfect for letting people choose their name color, opt into notifications, show what games they play, or organize by region. No staff needed - members do it themselves!

How to Set Up Reaction Roles (Step-by-Step)

Follow these steps. Each step tells you exactly where to click in the dashboard.

01

Open the Dashboard

Go to modora.gg/dashboard and select your server. If Reaction Roles is disabled, open Modules, enable it, then click the Reaction Roles card.

Dashboard → Your Server → Modules → Reaction Roles
02

Create a New Panel

Click 'Create Panel', 'New Panel', or '+ Add Panel'. A panel is the message that appears in a channel with emoji reactions.

Reaction Roles → Create Panel button
03

Write Your Message

In the panel editor, find the message/content field. Type e.g. 'React below to get roles!' or 'Choose your color:'. This text appears above the reactions.

Panel editor → Message / Content field
04

Add Roles and Emojis

Add role-emoji pairs. For each: select a Discord role and pick an emoji (🔴 🔵 🟢 etc.). Example: Red = 🔴, Blue = 🔵. Members click the emoji to get that role.

Panel editor → Roles → Add role + emoji
05

Selection Mode

Single = members can only have ONE role from this panel (clicking another removes the first). Multiple = members can have several roles.

Panel editor → Single / Multiple selection
06

Choose Channel

Select the channel where the panel message should appear. Use the channel dropdown.

Panel editor → Channel dropdown
07

Optional: Button Style

If using buttons: choose primary, secondary, or success style. For classic reaction roles, the panel uses emoji reactions.

Panel editor → Style (if available)
08

Deploy

Click 'Deploy', 'Save', or 'Send'. The message appears in your channel with emojis/buttons. Members click to assign themselves roles!

Panel editor → Deploy / Save button

✅ That's it!

Members can now click the emojis to give themselves roles automatically!
