Pinned Sync

Copy a newly pinned message into one collection channel.

What it does

Dashboard → your server → Pinned Sync. Pin a message in one of the source channels and a copy appears in the target channel, so a pin does not disappear into a channel nobody visits.

Setting it up

Three settings: the channels it watches, the one channel it copies into, and whether the copy is an embed or plain text.

Info

Nothing happens until both a target channel and at least one source channel are set. With either one missing the module stays quiet.

What the copy looks like

As an embed: the author with their avatar, the message text up to 4000 characters, the source channel, a jump link back to the original and the first image attached to it.

As plain text: the author, the source channel, the message text up to 1900 characters and the jump link.

Warning

The module works from Discord's pins-updated event and compares against the pins it saw before. After a restart it has seen nothing, so the first pin change in a source channel copies everything currently pinned there, not only the new one.

Info

Unpinning does not remove the copy. The target channel is a collection, not a mirror.
