Follow this guide to set up high-quality music playback in your Discord server. Modora uses Lavalink for professional-grade audio streaming.
Access Dashboard
Go to https://modora.gg/dashboard and select your server
Navigate to Music
Click on "Music" in the left sidebar
Enable the Module
Toggle the "Enable Music System" switch to ON
Save Changes
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page
DJ Role (Recommended)
Users with the DJ role have full control over music playback
- •In the dashboard Music settings, find 'DJ Role'
- •Select a role from the dropdown (create one if needed)
- •Members with this role can skip, stop, and control volume
- •Members without DJ role can only add songs to queue
Music Channels
Restrict music commands to specific channels
- •Find 'Allowed Music Channels' in dashboard
- •Select channels where music commands can be used
- •Leave empty to allow in all channels
- •Recommended: Create a dedicated #music channel
Voice Permissions
Ensure bot can join voice channels
- •Go to Server Settings → Roles in Discord
- •Find Modora's role
- •Ensure 'Connect' and 'Speak' permissions are enabled
- •Check channel-specific overrides if needed
/music join
Join a voice channel first, then use this command to summon the bot
/music play never gonna give you up
Try playing a song with a search query
/music nowplaying
Check if the song is playing correctly
/music volume 75
Test volume control
/music queue
View the queue (add more songs first with /music play)
Success!

Default Volume
Set the starting volume for new music sessions

Bot joins but no audio plays
- Check that the bot has 'Speak' permission in the voice channel
- Verify your Discord audio settings (not server muted)
- Try a different song or source
- Check Lavalink status in dashboard
Music is laggy or stuttering
- Check your server's internet connection
- Lower the audio quality in dashboard settings
- Verify Lavalink server status
- Try a different voice region in Server Settings
Bot can't play Spotify links
- Configure Spotify credentials in dashboard
- Use YouTube instead (Modora will search automatically)
- Check that Spotify source is enabled in dashboard
Queue not working correctly
- Use /music queue to verify songs are being added
- Check if loop mode is enabled (might repeat same song)
- Try /music clear and start fresh
- Verify bot has proper permissions
